I got to the beach at around 5pm, and found Miguel, Darren and the two guys from Shrewsbury already out kite-surfing. None of them seemed to be having much fun though and with the winds in the 18 knot range, I decided to go surfing instead as I start getting overpowered with my 11m Wipika at around 15 knots.

I rigged my Hifly (as my big board is broken) and a 6.3m sail and got out there. I was niely powered up and having some good runs whilst the kiters all just seemed to spend their time walking up the beach. It would have been a good session, but it was ruined by the weed. I couldn't go more than a few metres without getting at least a little bit caught around my fin, and after a couple of hundred yards there would always be so much of it around my fin that I'd have to drop into the water, remove it start again. Needledd to say this soon got a bit frustrating.

Darren disappeared off into the estuary, and eventually returned having snapped his leash and lost his board. It did eventually turn up as the tide dropped on the sands of the estuary.

Miguel stayed out once everyone else had pcked up and seemed to be having a good time.

I gave up after an hour or so on the water as I was fed up with the weed. It didn't completely ruin the session as I was still well powered up and flying along all of the time, but it would have been much better without the weed.
